Many varied and difficult machining tasks can come up, and our clients’ personnel sometimes don’t have the experience with each one that it takes to get good results efficiently. That’s where we come in. We’re ready to help on the special jobs, or when standard machine tools aren’t up to it and need to be modified. This includes very specific machining applications on-site.
Getting it done: Metalock on-site assistance
Our assistance is designed specifically for tool operators who have experience in mobile machining, but need help with a specific task.
One of our service technicians will come to your site and accompany your specialists during the work. The objective is to provide tips and tricks from experience that enable your people to do the work independently and at a high level of quality. Please note that for insurance reasons our service technicians cannot do any work on the workpiece themselves; they can only advise.
Gaining the skills: Metalock on-site training
This training is designed for machine operators and technicians who have no or only a little experience in mobile machining. The objective is to bring your specialists to a knowledge level where they can train other staff.
The training includes:
- Preliminary orientation using technical drawings of the workpieces
- Directions, tips and tricks on machine setup, alignment and prepping
- Instruction on how to mount the tool on the workpiece and do the machining
- Photo/video documentation of the machining job
- Training certificate
Although we provide advice and assistance, responsibility for the correct performance of the work remains with the client.

Mobile machining on-site can be very demanding, especially when the geometries involved preclude repairs using standard equipment.
In such cases our development engineers swing into action. We make the necessary modifications to existing machines, or in very exacting cases develop special machines to order – always efficiently, practicality-focused and in close dialogue with the client.
